My name is Richard Escalante I am a design artist with special training in animation, graphic design, web design, illustration, and traditional/digital painting. I am currently working as a freelance artist and am seeking full-time employment.
In 2006 I graduated from California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) in Valencia, California. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts (BFA) in the school of Film/Video concentrating in animation and graphic design. I have been involved in the arts well back into my early childhood, a former California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) youth recipient earning the Seal of California Medal for aspiring artists. I have worked for many renowned art centers such as The Armory Center in Pasadena, Inner-City Arts in Los Angeles and have worked with Community Arts Partnership (CAP) for over 8 years. I also worked for Salem Communications, Inc (99.5FM KKLA, 870AM The Answer, 590AM KTIE) as their lead web/graphic designer managing three radio station websites and all their multimedia and social media assets. In 2012 I worked as a UI designer for ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy a subscription-based online education program for children ages 2–7, created by Age of Learning, Inc. Since 2013 I had been working in Glendale, CA for a private holdings company with businesses in the apparel, textile, medical and communications industries. I was their senior lead designer for all web development, print and multi-media assets.
In my time off I enjoy giving back to the community with graphic design and animation instruction to under privileged kids. Aside from my work, I am a youth teacher at my local church.
I currently reside in Santa Clarita with my beautiful wife Michelle, my son Ezra and expecting our second child in April of 2016.
